Hedgehog with steel spines

Probably everyone in our city already knows about the young mother Dasha Belyaeva, the founder of the volunteer association “Help Army Z”, who for many months has been organizing collections of humanitarian supplies for SVO participants and herself delivering them to the fighters, and to the farthest borders, several kilometers from advanced. Thermal imagers, quadcopters, saws, generators, medicines, dry borscht, dugout candles, camouflage nets – all this is never superfluous on the front line. Through Dasha, the relatives of the fighters send parcels to their relatives at home, and these are parcels not only from Borisoglebsk, but also from St. Petersburg, Murmansk and Yakutia. The Relief Army does not divide our soldiers by city or branch of the army; it tries to the best of its ability to help everyone who applies.

On April 9, 2024, Dasha visited Teplohim JSC, and from the threshold of the general director’s office, everyone present felt how this meeting grew from business to friendly.

Of course, Dasha was asked a lot of questions: how her work happens and how it is there, “behind the ribbon.” She answered, at first, slightly embarrassed, and then more and more carried away, talking about the events she had experienced, people, dangers, losses, blood, about the guys who are there, who miss their families and are so waiting for our support. He tells the story, gesticulating in a stream of memories and feelings, drawing ornate roads and maps of traversed paths in the air. And even when talking about the most terrible things she saw, about the wounded, about the shelling, about the “funerals” she received, her voice never wavered like a woman, because she herself is already a real warrior, only the occasional trembling hands can give it away.

Reports, news, requests, collections, searches, purchases, packaging, trips… Constantly in touch. And how often sad news comes through this connection. Some were not collected and not bought, some were bought and not brought, and some were brought, but they are no longer there…

And when communicating with people like Dasha, especially keenly, you understand with all your nature how important it is for us to help our children here: in word, deed, prayer, heart, extending with your thoughts invisible scarlet threads of warmth and support from home. To provide the rear, to let them feel that we remember them, think about them, about their difficulties, needs, sorrows. We are here. And we are obliged to help them there. As much as possible, little by little, but there are many of us, which means that by uniting, we can do not everything, but a lot.

At this meeting we were more silent and listened. Somewhere they lowered their eyes, trying to disperse the pictures in their thoughts of what was being described, how it was there, and what it was like for them, our defenders, the guys, the boys.
From the enterprise and all employees of Teplohim JSC, Vladimir Vyacheslavovich gave Daria funds in the amount of 150,000 rubles as assistance to the association to purchase necessary things for the children.

Many people still perceive SVO as something distant, happening outside of their familiar world, like a movie. And only by communicating with those who themselves visited these “filming”, you begin to see and understand everything in a completely different way. And a lump comes to my throat.

We are not children who close our eyes and think that we are hiding from everyone so that evil does not see them and will never touch us. Open your eyes and don’t dare look away! We must be united, together, shoulder to shoulder, step by step. And then these steps will become the road home for the guys and the road to victory for the whole country!

And Dasha kept talking and talking and it was clear how she was imbued to her very bones with a keen and passionate desire to help our soldiers and with pain when not everything that was planned turns out. Fragile, tender, it’s even hard to imagine what a heavy load lies on these thin female shoulders, but how dignified, proudly and steadfastly she carries it! It even becomes awkward to call her Dasha, I want to address her as Daria Andreevna. And the guys behind the ribbon gave her the cute call sign “Hedgehog.” But this little hedgehog has spines of steel!
