The path to efficiency

Since 2018, the national project “Labor Productivity”, approved by the May decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, has been actively operating in our country, expanding its boundaries. Today, more than 5,000 enterprises are involved in the project, and the number of participants is growing every day.

And in July of this year, the list of project participants was replenished with another enterprise of the Borisoglebsk urban district – Borisoglebsk Meat-Canning Plant LLC successfully passed the selection and began to implement lean manufacturing tools aimed at optimizing work processes, technological chains to achieve the maximum volume of production with minimal costs, while maintaining the quality of the manufactured products.

At the first stages, the implementation of the project in production is carried out jointly with experts from the Regional Competence Center, who help adapt successful cases to specific processes and tasks of the company, improve management and intra-production logistics. But, as in any business, in addition to general knowledge and ideas, the exchange of positive experience is of great importance, especially at the initial stages of work.

Therefore, with the support of the Regional Competence Center, a business visit to the production site of JSC Teplokhim, where lean manufacturing tools have been implemented since 2022, was organized for specialists of BMCC LLC. The guests were given the opportunity to see how these tools are implemented in practice, how workplaces are organized, what methods of process optimization and loss reduction are used. Particular attention was paid to the development of a production culture based on the involvement of each employee of the enterprise in the improvement process.

In addition, the visiting specialists were able to take part in a weekly audit of the compliance of production sites with the requirements of the 5S system, to ensure its effectiveness in creating a safe and comfortable working environment, to get acquainted with visual management tools for quickly identifying problems and responding to them.

Of course, throughout the meeting there were many questions and discussions of plans and ideas, challenges and obstacles that enterprises may face on the path to implementing lean manufacturing tools. But we are confident that such events for the exchange of experience help us all move forward towards more efficient and productive production, contributing to the development of not only individual enterprises, but also the country’s industry as a whole.
