Dialogues about the main things

On May 27, the Borisoglebsk College of Industrial and Information Technology held the final event of the first year of the “Professional Elite: Mechanical Engineering” network project. For us, as a partner company, this day was more than just a report, but a genuine source of pride and reflection on how much can be changed when working as a team with those who teach and develop future specialists.

The meeting brought together key project participants: employers from leading industry companies, teachers, the technical school administration, and, most importantly, the students themselves, for whom the entire project was being undertaken. Among the distinguished guests was Mikhail Evgenievich Kokotko, Chief Engineer of Teplokhim JSC, PhD in Engineering, and Associate Professor.

The event’s format was as open and honest as possible, without unnecessary formality. Participants shared their accomplishments over the past year, discussed challenges, and, most importantly, identified options for the project’s future development. And, as was rightly stated that day, for the second year running, we’ve been a team, and within a team, strength lies in diversity: each person brings a unique talent that makes the overall result greater than the sum of its parts.

In an open dialogue, we discussed issues important to both parties: the future of the technical school, students’ career prospects, and the role of employers in these processes. The first year of implementation is, one might say, a test of strength, fine-tuning the mechanisms, initial difficulties, and initial successes. But we are already seeing students actively engaging in industry activities, and businesses increasingly opening their doors to young professionals.

For employers themselves, participation in the project is essentially a bridge to the future, because we don’t just observe training from the sidelines; we participate, guide, advise, and invest our experience and knowledge in young people. And when students understand from the beginning of their studies where they’ll work, what they’ll become, and what support they can count on, they learn differently—more consciously and deeply.

As we wrap up the project’s launch, we can confidently congratulate all its participants on the successes of the first year! New heights lie ahead, but together we will conquer them!
