The beginning of a long journey

So the new school year has begun. And for the students of the Borisoglebsk College of Industrial and Information Technologies, its launch is taking place with a special light: since September, as part of the project “Professional Elite: engineering industry”, a series of excursions to the factories of partner enterprises has been opened for the children.

And today, in order to try on the role of not just guests, but potential colleagues, a group of first–year students of BTIT in the field of welder training has arrived at JSC Teplochim – those guys whose professionalism will determine the strength and durability of the equipment we produce.

On this day, future professionals were met at the plant by Mikhail Evgenievich Kokotko, Deputy Technical Director, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Maxim Viktorovich Ostankov, head of the welding laboratory, and Natalia Ivanovna Ryumina, Head of the Personnel Department.

And this tour was no longer a career guidance lesson, but a real immersion in industrial life, which lit up the eyes of even the most calm students. On this day, instead of textbooks and posters for young people, there was the hum of workshops, the smell of hot metal and the dance of blue sparks, and instead of lectures, there was a lively story by experienced specialists who shared the secrets of their skills, demonstrated the work of modern welding equipment and answered the most tricky questions of the guests.

And these few hours were as intense as possible for the students. They were able to see how real professionals work, how a smooth and durable welding seam is born – the hallmark of the quality of our factory. The children were shown the equipment and workplaces of the welders in the workshop. They assessed the scale of production by walking through the workshops and seeing how complex components and equipment are assembled from individual parts.

And after the tour, the students were invited to an informal setting, one might say, to a friendly meeting over pizza and juices, where they exchanged impressions about the vibrant energy industry, which gave them an opportunity to take a completely new look at their future profession.

“Such meetings are invaluable,” said Mikhail Evgenievich Kokotko, Deputy Technical Director. – We catch that twinkle in the eyes, interest. We see those who have not just come to get a profession, but want to grow and develop in it. These guys are our talent pool.

And these excursions for students are only the first, but very important step in a large program of cooperation between the college and the partner companies of the project. But we are confident that investing in young talents is the most reliable investment in the future of the industry, and we are glad that together with BTPIT we can build this future today.
